Abstract

The article examines how the COVID-19 pandemic affects the current state of Chinese-African relations. Difficulties which the dialogue of the parties goes through, in particular in the aspect of Africa's indebtedness exacerbated by the coronavirus crisis, are described too. The paper also reveals the impact that the pandemic may have on the implementation of the "Belt and road" initiative in its African part. The issue of China's "soft power" in Africa is touched upon in the light of the adverse consequences of COVID-19 in the sphere of humanitarian relations.
