Abstract

The article discusses the features of the first Russian translation of the works of N. Machiavelli and its fate in Russia in conjunction with the "Anti-Machiavel" of the future King of Prussia Frederick II. The features of the Russian translation, made not from the original, and the possible conditions and reasons for its creation are shown.
