Abstract

The article is dedicated to the Buryat blessings or well-wishes (yurools) used in late 19th /early 20th century, collected in various areas of Buryatia by a local folklorist S.P. Baldaev. The study is based on the case No. 475 of Baldaev’s fund. The purpose of the article is to analyze the collection of wishes from the specified fund as historical sources. The following tasks were defined: typing down the text of the wishes; describing the fund’s structure; sorting content by topic; revealing the difference in interpretation of the words «yureel» and «yurool»; examining lexical features of the text. Source studies and textual analysis were used as the primary research methods. As a result, the authors concluded that this fund contains unpublished folklore records made by a researcher of the late 19th – early 20th century that are extremely valuable for various fields of research. The novelty of the study lies in the fact that this fund, a huge storehouse of Buryat oral folk art, has been studied for the first time. The publication of these materials makes it possible to reconstructi the traditional way of life and worldview of the Buryats, preserve and transmit it to the future generations. The research of the block of wishes from the fund revealed that some yurools recorded in different regions are repeated with minor differences. This suggests that the culture of wishes was largely the same in different Buryat tribes, and some Yurools were quite widespread.

1 Фонд № 36 С.П. Балдаева – известного бурятского фольклориста, этнографа является одним из крупных и богатых коллекций ЦВРК ИМБТ СО РАН1, состоящий из 1443 ед. хранения и охватывающий период с 1835 по 1978 гг. По тематическому содержанию собранные им материалы уникальны и разнообразны [Балдаев, 2020, с. 5]. Среди его работ особое место занимают ныне неопубликованные, кропотливо собранные им в разные годы благопожелания на бурятском языке. 1. Работа выполнена в рамках государственного задания: «Памятники письменности народов России и Внутренней Азии на восточных языках и архивные документы XVIII – нач. XXI вв. в контексте межцивилизационного взаимодействия, № 121031000302-9».

В связи с недостаточной изученностью данного фольклорного материала назрела необходимость введения в научный оборот.
3 К плеяде известных фольклористов – собирателей «старины» периода XIX–XX вв. наряду с С.П. Балдаевым (1889–1979) относились М.Н. Хангалов (1858–1918), Ц.Ж. Жамцарано (1880/81–1942), Г.Д. Санжеев (1902–1982), Т.А. Бертагаев (1905–1976), И.Н. Мадасон (1911–1984), М.П. Хомонов (1913–1995), М.П. Хамаганов (1914–1999), К.В. Багинов (?) и др.

5 Именно бурятские благопожелания – «үреэлнүүд» как отдельный вид жанра был рассмотрен С.Д. Бабуевым в его кандидатской диссертации «Языковые особенности бурятских благопожеланий» (1994). Т.Ю. Бухаева в своей статье «Функции благопожеланий в бурятских народных сказках» (2014) на примере бурятских сказок приходит к выводу, что благопожелания служат для обогащения языка; для раскрытия идейного содержания произведения, личностных отношений героев; для эмоционального настроя героев в качестве напутствия и т. д.
6 Благопожелания (юрөөлы) – это своеобразные устнопоэтические произведения стихотворной формы, выражающие добрые пожелания человеку. Происхождение и формирование благопожеланий как жанра уходит в глубокую древность и связаны с ранними формами представлений о мире людей, верившими в силу магического воздействия слова. Посвящая кому-то юролы, наши далекие предки были убеждены, что добрые пожелания, выраженные определенными словами, имеющими магическое значение, обязательно сбудутся [Бардаханова, 1982, с. 148].
