Abstract

This research project considers the academic explanatory dictionaries of the Russian language as a basis for an academic systematic vocabulary corpus (digital information-retrieval archive, concordance, compendium) of the Russian language. The article considers the algorithm, the concept and principles of development of such digital corpus in the form of a hypertext thesaurus (hysaurus), which is nonlinear and takes into account the relational, hierarchical and network paradigmatic relations. This database will allow, through classification, systematization and digitizing of academic dictionaries, to give structure and unity to lexicographic materials, thereby ensuring their rapid exposure to scientific and scholarly circulation, as well as optimization of research in modern lexicography.

The project is of great relevance to scholars; it is designed to centralize the efforts of Russian lexicographers, since the multifarious studies in this area pursue multiple goals. Up till now, it was impossible to get a full scope of the Russian lexicography, and the searchable corpus of the Russian language might aspire to offer such a scope. The hypertext thesaurus is expected to be continually expanded with new entries and lexicographic sources.
