Abstract

The author of the article investigates the dispatches of the Soviet representative in Prague Pavel N. Mostovenko to the People’s commissariat of the foreign relations of the Soviet Russia. These documents unmusk the activity of the agents of  Comintern at the time of the formation  of the Communist party of Czechoslovakia which led to the aggravation of the struggle within this Party and  allowed the Czechoslovak government to charge the Soviet Russia with instigating the Left-wing Radicals and meddling in the domestic affairs of Czechoslovakia. Mostovenko offered to organize the activity of  Comintern basing on quite different principals. He  suggested  giving   the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia and Communist parties of other countries the possibility  to represent their own interests in Comintern directly and to abandon the practice of  the emissaries and the financing being sent from Moscow. The telegrams of the Soviet plenipotentiary  resulted in the conflict between the People’s commissariat of the foreign relations and the leadership of Comintern. The author of the article believes that  Mostovenko’s  insistent proposals to  get rid the Soviet diplomats in Prague  of  Comintern commissions led to his resignation from this post.
