Suffixation in Old Church Slavonic as a compensation of the Greek article

The article presents the hypothesis about one of the types of compensation of the Greek article in Old Church Slavonic. In the Greek texts of the Scriptures and other early Christian literature, nominations by adjectives substantivized by means of the article are widespread. In the Slavic grammatical structure the article as such was absent. The application of a noun with a distinctive part-speech suffix for the translation of the Greek substantively used adjectives into the Old Church Slavonic reported with certainty that the word nominates the subject (in the largest sense of the word), and thus the suffixation compensated the Greek article.
