Abstract

The aim of the research was to study the corrective effect of Gentabiferon-C on the immune status of weaned pigs and its effectiveness in the prevention of intestinal infections. The conducted studies have established a positive effect of the drug on the morphological and immunological parameters of the animal blood, manifested by an increase in comparison with the basic version of the red blood cells content by 10,8%, the relative number of lymphocytes – by 16,5%, the relative and absolute number of T-lymphocytes - by 16,8 and 14,0% and B-cells - by 21,0 and 20,0%, the activity of the complement system - by 23,5%, the lysozyme level - by 66,8%, the phagocytic activity of neutrophils, phagocytic number and index – 15,9; 38,2 and 16,2%, spontaneous and stimulated NBT test – 11,0 and 21,7%, and increased reserve and the index of activation of neutrophils – 13,3 and 17,1%, the number of total immunoglobulin – 9,7%, and high (100%) efficacy in the prevention of intestinal infections caused by the presence in the preparation of antibiotics with a broad spectrum of antimicrobial action and porcine recombinant alpha- and gamma-interferons.
