Effect of hirudotherapy on indicators of plasma hemostasis in cows with clinical form of mastitis

The aim of the work was to study the effect of hirudotherapy on the hemostasis plasma link in cows in the clinical mastitis treatment. The study of blood in 20 lactating cows of Ayrshire breed was performed. After the hirudotherapy was applied, the most active aggregation was observed in collagen-induced aggregation. Platelet disaggregation capabilities decreased when exposed to ADP and ristomycin. Significant shortening of the APTT (activated partial thrombin time) (P≤0.001), PTT (prothrombin time) (P≤0.01) and thrombin time (TT) was observed. The use of medical leeches in the treatment of clinical mastitis did not significantly affect the adhesive - aggregation activity of platelets, however, had a corrective effect on the plasma - coagulation link of hemostasis.
