Abstract | The territorial conflict and different perceptions of the history of bilateral relations have a strong chilling effect on modern Japanese-Chinese relations. This leads to a phenomenon in the interaction of Japan and China described as “hot economy and cold politics”. At the same time, the serious changes in the economy, geopolitics and security in the Asia-Pacific region and in the global arena in recent years have forced the leaders of the two countries soften political contradictions and look for the opportunities for rapprochement and cooperation. |
