Abstract

The paper examines the life path and joint work of the English philosopher and economist John Stuart Mill (1806—1873) and his wife Harriet Taylor Mill (1807—1858). The facts of their biography and personal life were studied. The emphasis is on Harriet Taylor Mill's personality. The works of Mill, in which the influence of his wife is most clearly traced, are highlighted. The mechanism and features of their cooperation are shown. The author comes to the conclusion about the significant contribution of Harriet Taylor Mill to the works of John Stuart Mill, which allows us to talk about co-authorship.
