Abstract

The article concentrates on the study of social risks and consequences of a widespread introduction of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies. On the basis of profound interviews conducted with Russian IT-specialists and experts in the field of development and introduction of neural networks authors single out such social risks and negative effects of the widespread implementation of AI technologies as rise of structural unemployment level, increase in economic injustice, growth in cybercrime and cyber threats, fall in the efficiency of human capital investments, decrease in privacy. An ethical component of AI causes particular concern. The conducted research proves that along with advantages and benefits the widespread usage of AI technologies engenders new threats. Thus, assessment of negative consequences of AI technologies and management of emerging social risks are a topical scientific issue nowadays.
