Abstract

The article is devoted to the investigation of clay bowls, which are evidence of foreign influence on ancient Egyptian pottery during the Late and Ptolemaic periods. These bowls are characterized by high flaring neck, short shoulders and various shapes of body and base. The investigation has shown that these recipients imitate bowls made of different materials and spread over whole territory of the Achaemenid Empire. Hence, Egyptian bowls are examples of the international Achaemenid style.

1 Во время работы археологической экспедиции Центра египтологических исследований РАН на территории северного Мемфиса (Ком-Туман, Ком-Дафбаби, Ком-Азизия) [Ярмолович, 2017(1); Ярмолович, 2017(2); Ярмолович, 2018; Belova, 2018; Belova, Ivanov, 2016; Ivanov, 2007; Ivanov, 2015] в керамических скоплениях были найдены глиняные чаши, форма которых вызывает особый интерес и требует специального исследования: все они обладают высокой шеей и раскрывающимся венчиком (рис. 1, 2).

5 Анализ морфологических признаков этих чаш показал, что они имеют раскрывающийся венчик и высокую шею, короткие плечи разных очертаний, эллипсовидное или сферическое тулово, округлое или плоское донце, или кольцевой поддон (рис. 1; табл. 1). Сравнение чаш из Мемфиса с аналогичными сосудами, найденными на других памятниках Египта, позволяет выделить 5 подтипов чаш и их варианты.
6 Диаметр венчика чаш этого типа варьируется от 11 до 14 см, максимальный диаметр тулова достигает 10,8–14 см. Чаши, сохранившиеся целыми, имеют высоту от 5,6 до 9 см (табл. 1).
7 Чаши из Мемфиса, найденные в ходе раскопок, выполнены из светлых мергельных глин (прил. 1). По составу, количеству и размерам включений глины делятся на две группы1]. В большинстве случаев (10 фрагментов) было использовано тонкое, среднеплотное мергельное тесто с различными минеральными и растительными включениями (варианты MII.1–3). Лишь несколько чаш (4 фрагмента) выполнены из очень тонких (с минимальным числом включений) плотных мергельных глин розовых и бежевых оттенков с небольшим количеством тонкозернистых минеральных включений: только с частицами известняка, либо с чёрными минеральными частицами, либо с чёрными минеральными частицами и слюдой (варианты MI.2). После обжига изделия из этого теста приобретают розовый и/или бежевый цвета. 1. 8 Большая часть сосудов, обнаруженных на других памятниках, сделана из нильской аллювиальной глины, приобретающей в процессе обжига красноватые или коричневые оттенки и обладающей разными характеристиками: от неплотных грубых (с крупными включениями) до плотных среднетонких (с включениями небольших размеров) формовочных масс. Описанные характеристики глин относятся к чашам из Гизы [Kormysheva et al., 2018 p. 114, fig. 57, pl. CXXI–CXXII], Сувы2, Фонис-Геркалея3 [Grataloup, 2015, p. 147–148, 154–155, fig. 7.7.10, 7.13.3–4], Телль-эль-Херра [Defernez, 2001(1), p. 31–32; Defernez, 2001(2), p. 330, pl. LXXII (208)], северного Карнака [Jacquet-Gordon, 2012(1), p. 320; Jacquet-Gordon, 2012(2), fig. 133a], Тебтюниса (Файюмский оазис) [Marchand, 2002, p. 259, fig. 10 (a–c, e)]. Лишь один сосуд из «квартала жрецов» в Карнаке, подобно некоторым чашам из Мемфиса, сделан из очень тонкого розового мергельного теста [Masson, 2016, p. 153, fig. 7]; и чаша из оазиса Харги сформована из тонкой местной глины [Wuttmann et al., 1996, p. 417–418]. 2. Чаша из Сувы (UC 19279), найденная У. М. Флиндерсом Питри, по предположению автора статьи, была изготовлена из аллювиального тонкого плотного теста.

9 В отделке поверхности мемфисских чаш прослеживаются отличия. В большинстве случаев их внешняя и внутренняя поверхности оставлены без дополнительного покрытия, и лишь внешняя поверхность залощена (6 экз.). Качество лощения некоторых сосудов очень высокое: их внешняя поверхность гладкая и отличается блеском. Другим вариантом отделки внешних поверхностей было простое сглаживание глины влажной рукой. Следует отметить, что на внешней и/или внутренней поверхности нескольких сосудов был отмечен белесый налет (англ. light-coloured surface layer) [Ярмолович, 2017(2), с. 58, прим. 6].
