Abstract

The paper proposes a semantic-syntactic description of several Russian binary subordinating conjunctions (NE USPEL..., KAK... ‘no sooner… than…’; STÓIT..., KAK... ‘as soon as…’ ; KAK TOLʹKO..., TAK... ‘as soon as…’; EDVA..., KAK... ‘hardly…’; etc.) on the form of lexical entries of an Explanatory Combinatorial Dictionary. Two theoretical problems are considered: distinguishing deep and surface parts of speech and syntactically motivated collocations (where the collocate does not express any meaning, but is imposed by syntactic rules).
