European members of the CMEA and the Third World: economic assistance in the estimation of the CIA in 1965–1975

The article highlights the CIA analysis on economic aid of the European countries-members of the CMEA to the Third World in 1965-1975. In its researches, American intelligence analysts have revealed the Soviet East European allies’ as well as the USSR herself ap-proaches to the forms and methods of rendered assistance to the less developed countries and their gradual turnover to “economic pragmatism” in their policy.
