Abstract

The article is devoted to the biography and scholarly achievements of one of the most outstanding historians specialized in Slavic studies, Ivan Ivanovich Kościuszko. He was a brilliant expert on the history of peasantry and on agriculture in the countries of the Central Europe in the nineteenth century, as well as on the history of the Russian-Polish relations in the twentieth century.
