Abstract

The article presents the actual names of shoes which are actively used in modern Russian in various sources: in the field of marketing, in shoe stores and in online stores, including marketplaces such as WildBerries.ru, Беру.ру, Lamoda.ru, in advertising, on television, in fashion shows, in films, on the internet, in social networks of famous models, in fashion magazines and newspapers, in fashion blogs, in literature and internet memes. Names of shoes become more and more common among the common consumers and target audience This allows words to move into the category of common vocabulary. Most of them turned out to be lexical borrowings, which is due to the development of the international fashion industry. Some shoe names continue to function as double or parallel names, because native speakers do not quite distinguish between similar shoe models. Moreover, in all these sources, the most common shoe names were oxfords, loafers, brogues, espadrilles, mules, derby, clogs, which means that they are assimilated in the language.
