Abstract

Greenland and the Faroe Islands — Danish possessions, in which tourism in the 2010s developed quite actively. Despite the weak connection with the outside world, the geography of tourist arrivals during this period has generally expanded, and the number has almost doubled. Both territories specialize in ecological tourism; there are also some notable objects of cultural tourism.

The aim of the study is to identify the geographical features of the distribution of the inbound tourist flow to Greenland and the Faroe Islands. The data of the statistical services of the corresponding territories were used. The features of the dynamics, structure and distribution of the inbound tourist flow (based on statistics of accommodation facilities, airports and cruise ports) are revealed, the features of transport communication that are significant for tourism are described. The insular position and the colonial “imprint” have a negative effect in terms of the diversity of tourist traffic, but they hold back overtourism.

Greenland belongs to the territories of Arctic tourism. It is characterized by high values of tourist load, significant dependence on cruise tourism and a pronounced seasonality with a summer peak. The main tourist regions are identified and their characteristic features are described: Disko Bay, Southern Greenland, Eastern Greenland and the Capital region.

1 Введение. Датские владения Гренландия и Фарерские острова — достаточно своеобразные территории, в т. ч. с точки зрения географии туризма. Рассмотрение их в отдельной статье имеет смысл, т. к. особенности формирования въездных турпотоков заметно отличаются от континентальной Европы.
2 Гренландия — типичная арктическая территория, туризм на которой начал активно развиваться только в 90-е гг. XX в. Это не только крупнейший остров в мире, но и крупнейшая несамостоятельная территория, хотя и обладает широкой автономией в составе Дании. Население Гренландии на 1 января 2020 г. — 56 тыс. чел. Большая часть населения проживает на юго-западном побережье острова (в т. ч. в столице — около трети), более комфортном для проживания, т. к. через его воды проходит тёплое Западно-Гренландское течение. Внутреннюю часть острова занимает ледниковый щит — крупнейший в Северном полушарии. Основу экономики составляет рыболовство и переработка рыбы, доля туризма в экономике незначительна, хотя туризм важен с точки зрения поддержания уровня занятости населения1. 1. Greenland's Economy. 3 Фарерские острова — более южное владение Дании. Самая северная точка Фарер находится на 4 градуса южнее Северного полярного круга, а по степени географической изоляции острова сопоставимы с российскими северными регионами (например, с Ненецким АО). Архипелаг находится на морском пути из Дании в Исландию и связан грузопассажирской паромной линией Сейдисфьордюр (Исландия) — Торсхавн (Фарерские острова) — Хиртсхальс (Дания). В отличие от Гренландии, на Фарерах развита сеть автомобильных дорог, большинство островов связаны тоннелями. Основа экономики Фарер — рыболовство и переработка рыбы, а также овцеводство, доля туризма в структуре ВВП составляет всего около 2 % (по данным датского национального банка2), хотя он признаётся важной отраслью для диверсификации экономики островов. Численность населения Фарерских островов на 1 января 2020 г. — 51,6 тыс. чел. — немного меньше, чем в Гренландии, однако этот небольшой архипелаг по плотности населения (37 чел./км2) сопоставим с Тульской областью или Грузией. 4 Целью исследования является выявление географических особенностей распределения въездного туристского потока в Гренландию и Фарерские острова.
5 Информационная база и степень изученности проблемы. Туризму в Гренландии и на Фарерских островах посвящено не так много научных исследований. Есть исследования, посвящённые общему обзору туризма на этих территориях [15; 20]. Изучена проблема влияния туризма на местные сообщества в Гренландии [11] и влияния климатических изменений на туризм в Гренландии [18; 21]. По мнению некоторых авторов, климатические изменения способствуют развитию туризма в Арктике, т. к. сейчас «последний шанс» увидеть её такой, какая она есть [16]. В одной из статей [13] рассмотрен вопрос экономической независимости — это очень важный вопрос для гренландцев и фарерцев, влияющий и на их политическую жизнь. Описаны различные аспекты стратегии развития туризма в Гренландии [4; 7; 8; 19], а также возможные риски, связанные со сверхтуризмом [14]. Встречаются и статьи, в которых описывается личный опыт посещения Гренландии и Фарерских островов [3; 9], который, безусловно, необходим для составления впечатления о территории и осмысления результатов. Интерес представляет работа, в которой приводится модель оптимизации авиадоступности Гренландии [12], которая ощутимо влияет и на объём туристского потока. Из территорий-аналогов можно привести Чукотку, для которой предложена новая территориальная структура туризма, также основанная на авиахабе [1].
