Abstract

The article is devoted to the review and theoretical analysis of research on human emotional regulation. The main stages of development of emotional regulation and General directions of changes occurring in ontogenesis are described. External and internal factors that influence the formation of emotional regulation are considered. Temperament and Executive functions are considered as internal factors, while parents ' attitude to children, parenting style in the family, and ways of self – regulation of parents are considered as external factors. The research areas closely related to the study of emotional regulation – prosocial behavior and its relationship with emotional regulation and emotional intelligence-are considered separately.
