Abstract

The article describes the composition of the school literary canon in the form as presented in the officially sanctioned educational materials for the high school (gaozhong) of the PRC. China is currently implementing an unprecedented nationwide school curriculum reform (K-12). As a result, the composition of the school literary canon also changes, which reflects important changes in the ratio of focus and periphery.
