The book of the famous historian-Americanist V. L. Malkov based on the huge domestic and foreign archival materials, as well as numerous recent works examines the origins of the creation of atomic weapons, and then the nuclear arms race. In fact, for the first time, the author completely introduces into the scientific circulation a unique and little-known publication of documents - the multivolume work of the atomic nuclear scientists, archivists and historians “Atomic Project of the USSR: Documents and Materials”.
