В статье рассматривается история левых сил в британском Тринидаде и Тобаго в 1919—1939 гг. Особое внимание уделено роли тринидадской диаспоры в развитии лейбористского и коммунистического движения в данной колонии. В статье впервые анализируются документы, связанные с началом работы Коминтерна в британской Вест-Индии и деятельностью тринидадских коммунистов.
