The diverse early left of Trinidad and Tobago (1919—1939): the labour, communists, butlerites

The article examines the history of left-wing forces in British Trinidad and Tobago in 1919—1939. Particular attention is paid to the role of the Trinidadian diaspora in the development of the Labour and Communist movement in the colony. Documents related to the beginning of the Comintern’s work in the British West Indies and the Trinidadian Communist activities are analyzed.
