Abstract

In 2018, Venezuela published a book by the Italian writer and public fig- ure Geraldina Colotti, under the catchy and intriguing title "After Chavez. How banners are born." The book depicts the complex way, full of problems and difficulties, passed by Venezuela since 2013, the quietus of Hugo Chavez. It treats the challenges which have been faced by N. Maduro government, the answers given in the domestic political environment which has been tense and explosive, the political labyrinths wandered by the Venezuelan rightist opposition, and the dead ends in its attempts to overthrow the legally-elected president. At the same time, this book is not just modern one. The story organically intertwines the Venezuela past reminiscences, and the author's philosophical reflections.
