Albert Semenovich Pigolkin devoted his life to legal science, having worked at the Institute of Legislation and Comparative Law under the Government of the Russian Federation for almost 50 years, 30 years of which he remained the permanent head of one of the leading departments of the Institute - the department of the theory of lawmaking and systematization of legislation. The most famous are the works of A.S. Pigolkin on lawmaking, sources of law, typology of regulations, as well as interpretation of law. Despite the ongoing evolution of the theory of lawmaking and interpretationof law, the ideas formulated by the scientist remain a source of knowledge and give impetus to the further development of modern doctrine.
