Edmond Farrenc: French Jourlalist on Both Sides of the Atlantic

Life of Edmond Farrenc, the Parisian journalist, who had lived for a long time in the USA and Canada, is traced in the article. Publicistic and literary activities of Farrenc, his lectures and articles in the periodicals of the second half of the 19th century show that he addressed audiences on both sides of the Atlantic, put emphasis on the interaction of ideas, viewed events, that took place in the Old and New Worlds, from the transnational perspective. In this sense, in modern terms, we can speak of Edmond Farrenc as a transnational author.
