Abstract

The paper describes the experience of the State Academic University for the Humanities (GAUGN) in organizing short-term schools for young historians in recent years and makes some observations about the effectiveness of such events for training scientific personnel and anchorage young people in the field of scientific research. In the last 5 years alone, the University has held one and sometimes two schools of young historians annually. Over the years, GAUGN has developed very interesting and effective formats for such schools: “school-seminar” and “school-workshop”. During these events, students not only listen to lectures by veteran specialists, but also to present their own individual or collective projects and received feedback from teachers and other students. This approach proves to be more interesting for the participants themselves, although it requires their additional efforts.
