Russian Historical and Сultural Heritage on the Aleutian Islands in the Context of the History of Russian America

The article is devoted to the study of issues related to the consideration of various stages of the history and civilizational heritage of Russia on the Aleutian Islands. The article is written on the basis of an interdisciplinary approach. This paper highlights the key historiographic approaches, while paying close attention to the analysis of the activities of the Russian Orthodox Church in Alaska. The peculiarities of perception of Russian culture and Russia at the present stage have been studied. The main emphasis is placed on highlighting the most important aspects in the process of Russian colonization of the Aleutian Islands in the late 18th — early 19th centuries. It is shown why, in recent times, a thorough analysis and popularization of the history and heritage of Russia in the Aleutian Islands and Alaska can contribute to the rapprochement of the United States and the Russian Federation, and the topic itself has great potential for development
