Abstract

The article is devoted to the last codified criminal law act of the Russian Empire - the Criminal Code of 1903, from the date of adoption of which marks 120 years. The Code has a tragic fate: being developed for 22 years, it has not been put into effect in full. The socio-legal prerequisites for the preparation of the code are revealed, the history of work on the law is shown, the characteristics of the General and Special parts of the Code and the assessment of its criminal legal significance are given.
