Abstract

The article examines the issues of the judicial system of the Bukhara Emirate, the general require-ments for claimants for the position of a judge (kazi), the procedure for the production of criminal cases in courts. Provision is made for the jurisdiction of criminal cases of local (Bek) kazis and judges of the Kazi Corps. Special attention is paid to the procedural position of the witness as one of the main participants in the criminal proceedings of the Bukhara Emirate. Also, the system and procedure for applying criminal penalties are analyzed in detail, the places of imprisonment (zindan) and the supervision of its implementation are described.
