The topic of reforming the Russian road industry has become a key point of the May decrees of President Putin 2018. In the coming years, we will have to modernize the existing roads, build new roads of regional and local importance, using new technologies and materials that will improve the quality of the roadway, its durability, and hence traffic safety. Life-cycle contracts will also be applied when the contractor is financially responsible for the condition of the road throughout its service life. For these purposes, the budget will allocate more than 11 trillion rubles. The implementation of this truly national reform will require a comprehensive approach. In our article we will have time to dwell on only one, but the most important component in updating the road network of the country.
