Abstract

The article offers an analysis of the outcome of the work on a diplomatic transcription of ‘the first’ notebook by F.M. Dostoevsky (The Russian State Archive of Literature and Art, F.212.1.3); we dwell on major prerequisites for that kind of scholarly documentation, on the characteristic properties of the document, and on textual parameters selected for transcription. The article contains a table showing some new readings of the Dostoevsky notebook.
