Abstract

Syn- and epigenetic ore mineralization was studied in Paleoproterozoic metakimberlite at Kimozero, Karelia. In the Kimozero structure, redeposited ore mineralization is constrained to fracture and shear zones and consists of Fe-vaesite, Fe–Co-polydymite, millerite, Ni-pyrrhotite, pentlandite, chalcopyrite, Zn-bearing copper, galena, and Ni-pyrite. The composition of this mineralization is analogous to that of syngenetic mineralization in pyroclastic and coherent kimberlite, and its likely source was the kimberlite itself.
