Abstract

In January 2018 beneath the organizational support of the Institute’s of Philosophy of RAS Department of the Theory of Knowledge took place the round-table “Contemporary Tendencies of the Epistemology’s Development" (arranged to the fortieth anniversary of the Department of Theory of Knowledge of the Institute of Philosophy of RAS.) The participants of the round table evaluated the importance of the Department of Theory of Knowledge of RAS for its forty years long role in the development of epistemological research in Russia and in the world, discussed status of epistemological problems in modern philosophy (including the detection of the meaning of the distinction between classical and non-classical epistemology), determined the importance of epistemology for modern cognitive science, STS researches, and humanities (psychology, history, philology). In the focus of the participants attention were terminological problems of epistemology as a historical phenomenon, and also trends of this fields of philosophy further movement. During the discussion were actualized the programs of epistemology’s development, proposed in particular by the employees of the Department of the Theory of Knowledge of the IP RAS: the constructive-realistic epistemology (V.A. Lektorsky), social epistemology (I.T. Kasavin), the theory of social relays (M.A. Rozov), cultural-historical epistemology (B.I. Pruzhinin), translation as an epistemological phenomenon (N.S. Avtonomova).
