Abstract

The paper is a publication of a hoard of 59 Roman denarii found in the Kozelsk district of the Kaluga region in 2023. It contains coins of Vespasian (3 pieces), Trajan (7), Hadrian (6), Sabina (1), Antoninus Pius (13), Faustina I (4), Marcus Aurelius (13), Faustina II (6), Commodus (4), Septimius Severus (1), Julia Domna (1). The hoard provides new valuable evidence of the circulation of Roman Imperial denarii in the eastern part of the European Barbaricum not only in the 2nd–3rd centuries AD, but also later (4th–5th centuries).
