Аннотация

Гелланик Лесбосский – один из самых видных представителей греческой историографии V в. до н.э., автор очень большого количества трудов. Гелланик прожил чрезвычайно долгую жизнь, но надежно известных фактов из нее, к сожалению, мало, поскольку и биографические сведения о нем скудны, и занимались им редко. Из фигурирующих в исследовательской литературе датировок рождения Гелланика нам представляется наиболее вероятной восходящая к Аполлодору – 497/496 г. до н.э. Умер же он после 407/406 г. до н.э. (о нескольких событиях этого года упоминается во фрагментах его «Аттиды»). Сочинения Гелланика тематически достаточно четко делятся на три группы: мифографические, хорографические, хронологические. В статье выдвигается гипотеза, согласно которой они и создавались именно в таком порядке. Иными словами, в начале карьеры приоритетной тематикой историка была мифография, затем он увлекся хорографией, а в конце жизни стал серьезно заниматься проблемами хронологии. В подобной эволюции, как в зеркале, отразился общий процесс развития греческого историописания в V в. до н.э. (Ферекид Афинский – Геродот – Фукидид).
