Семья Фемистокла в Магнесии-на-Меандре (малоизвестный эпизод истории греческой тирании)

Фемистокл после своего бегства в Персию в 465 г. до н.э., как известно, получил от Артаксеркса I несколько греческих городов в Малой Азии. В одном из них, Магнесии-на-Меандре, он жил и правил в качестве вассального тирана до своей кончины в 459 г. до н.э. Там же он чеканил монеты, в надписях на которых ставил как собственное имя (ΘΕΜΙΣΤΟΚΛΕΟΣ, ΘΕ), так и название полиса (ΜΑ, ΑΜ). Теперь нумизматические данные позволяют с полной ответственностью утверждать, что наследником Фемистокла на посту правителя Магнесии стал его сын Археполид (упоминаемый Плутархом как Архептолид). О тирании Археполида нарративные источники ничего не сообщают, но стали известны его выпускавшиеся в Магнесии монеты (с легендами ΑΡΧΕΠΟΛΙΣ, ΑΡΧΕ, ΑΡ), демонстрирующие прямую преемственность по отношению к чеканке Фемистокла. Более того, есть некоторая вероятность, что существовал и третий тиран этого города – сын Археполида Фемистокл-младший. В таком случае ему должны быть приписаны магнесийские монеты с легендой ΘΕ, датирующиеся позже монет Археполида. Итак, выявляется целая династия тиранов (ранее совершенно неизвестная), продолжавшаяся два или даже три поколения; ее можно обозначить как Фемистоклиды.
