Abstract | Kant characterizes his philosophical doctrine as *transcendental idealism*, but at the same time writes that it is compatible with "empirical realism" [CPR, A370, 371]. How can we define Kant''s transcendental philosophy: is it idealism or realism? Our issue of the "*Studies in Transcendental Philosophy*" is devoted to the discussion of this problem. Most of the texts argue in favor of a realistic interpretation of Kantian transcendentalism. |
