Abstract

Еmployment and position on the labor market of 2010-2015 Secondary Vocational Education graduates is analyzed by two groups of education: "mid-level specialists", "skilled workers and employees" on the 2016 materials of the representative all-Russian poll. It  is stated that a quite high proportion of graduates find their first job, while a large number of them find employment in the first six months after graduation, most often with a help of relatives and friends. As a result of disparities between the supply-demand structure in the labor market, almost a 2/5 of graduates receive jobs that do not correspond to the specialty obtained as a result of learning; only less than 2/3 of first and over 70% of second group of employed graduates find jobs, which correspond by status to the level of qualification formally provided by their diplomas. Those who work on the specialty and those who do not differ significantly in their statuses. Their position on the labor market in 2016 is being characterized as follows: employment and unemployment rates are higher than the national average; unemployment is higher in ages corresponding to graduation and first-job search; average salaries are below the national and skilled workers and employees’ ones are less than mid-level specialists.
