Abstract

The article proposes a feasible approach to diagnostics of the production situation in industrial enterprises. It is based on several methodological factors. The first is the main purpose of sociological support for the preparation of reasonable management decisions to identify “controlled factors”, the impact on which can presumably improve the production situation. The second is functional management objects considered as social types, which are latent groups of workers, qualitatively homogeneous in character of identification with an enterprise. The third is search procedures for “controlled factors” based on the use of balance/imbalance indicators between job evaluations and workers’ claims attributed to the same type by the nature of their identification with the enterprise. In the process of testing the proposed approach using the example of data analysis from a survey of industrial workers, the expediency of both a three-component model for identifying workers with an enterprise proposed by the authors earlier and analyzing balance/imbalance indicators on its basis was to some extent confirmed. From the above empirical rationale, it follows that under transition to analysis of the production situation elements by typological groups of workers identified by the nature of identification with an enterprise, there is a significant increase in the informativeness of balance/imbalance indicators between job evaluations and workers’ assertions in the here and now situation.
