Abstract

The key to understanding the semantics and the genre structure of Eddic lay “Lokasenna” is the most relevant for the archaic mythopoetic tradition ritual feast. At the same time, the precedent of the first creation is recreated and the necessity of functioning of a cosmological song that focuses attention on the eschatological theme is determined. Dialogue in the form of a verbal quarrel with its inherent vocabulary of low style serves for the most adequate description of the “antibehavior&8j1; of the main character – Loki in the most dangerous moment for the universe of the confrontation between the elements of chaos and the cosmos.
