Abstract

The article accounts for the practice of creating a scholarly-and-educational automated database created on the basis of the KAISA software product, the content of which is F.M. Dostoevsky’s autographs in the form of high-resolution TIFF files – preparatory materials for his works, diary entries, letters and other documents, with a demonstration on a specially created website https://dostoevskyarchive.pushdom.ru. The first stage of the project was carried out with the support of a grant from the Russian Science Foundation; there were collected and posted on the website of the Pushkin House all the autographs of the writer available to date. Further development of the database involves the inclusion of publications of his works, starting with the documents of his lifetime, letters to the writer, other biographical documents, memoirs of the contemporaries, literature about the writer’s work. These materials are systematized according to the genre-chronological principle and are provided with an exhaustive historical and literary commentary. The article analyzes a number of strategic directions in the further development of the project, including an innovative method of dating records based on spectrophotometric analysis of ink and new ways of presenting draft manuscripts in an easy-to-read form – electronic diplomatic transcription, which turn the project into an accessible and open scholarly-and-educational Internet resource, which meets the needs of a professional researcher and is useful for university and high-school students, for users coming from different levels of education and interested in Dostoevsky's work.
