Abstract

The article describes results of computer processing of the mass data on folklore and mythology of Eurasia. Ideas related to the worldview are shared by Eastern Slavs with the Central European and Balkan traditions. The Northern Russian traditions demonstrate the Uralic influence. The Turkic-Mongolian world and the Near East are major sources of episodes in European tales of magic and animal tales. The extraordinary wealth of Slavic folklore is a result of diverse outer influences.
