Abstract

The review is concerned with the analysis of the social-psychological aspects of global risks presented in the monograph by A. L. Zhuravlev and T. A. Nestik [5]. This work is a thorough study of socio-psychological and descriptive mechanisms for constructing social perceptions of global risks. It is also an original scientific work, the publication of which carries out the most important tasks to articulate the logic of socio-psychological knowledge of the content-related and structural-dynamic characteristics of the individual’s and group attitudes toward global risks; the monograph also stimulates a serious and informed discussion about the role of reflective strategies in managing such risks. The review also emphasizes the theoretical approach of the authors connecting global risks on the one hand to values and risks reflectivity, on the other. It is shown that the features and characteristics of the socio-psychological mechanisms for creating, using and preventing global risks presented in the monograph set the theoretical and methodological coordinates of the research. The review suggests that the characteristics of the social-psychological mechanisms for creating, using, and preventing global risks, presented in the monograph, set forth the theoretical and methodological coordinates of new research
