Abstract

The revolution of 1949 in China marked the country's transition from “bureaucratic feudalism” to the construction of a socialist society. The beginning of the policy of reforms (1978–1979) is now interpreted as the “second revolution” — the transition from “state socialism” to “market socialism”. As can be seen from the decisions of the 19th CPC Congress, China is now launching a new round of socio-economic development aimed at combining 190 Summary the personal interests of citizens with public and state interests. The new turn of reforms can be described as the “third Chinese revolution” with dramatic consequences for the entire social structure. Mixed political system,  combining strong centralized power with party-government management and democratic leadership at the grass-roots administrative level, will correspond to a multi-layered market economy.
