The author proceeds from the need for a full-scale reindustrialization of Kazakhstan.  He is critical of the country's present-day industrial capacity and draws attention to the fact that its poor condition is partly due to the lack of the necessary state regulation of the transition to a market economy process. The article analyzes the problems that need to be addressed in the near future in the course of the reindustrialization policy implementation.
