Stylistic transformation in the films of Pedro Almodovar

The article examines the features of the author’s style of Pedro Almodovar, one of the most significant modern film Directors. A comparison of different periods of his work allows us to conclude that the deepening of existential motives in his recent films led to a noticeable change in their style. The outrageous farcical aesthetic of the early works gave way to more traditional narrative forms that combine the originality of the author’s style with a deep philosophical understanding.
