Abstract

The Center for Iberian Studies of the ILA RAS held the Round Table «Spain after the Elections: Political Results and Socio-Economic Impacts». The event turned into a big inter-institutional conference, in which colleagues from the IMEMO of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Institute of World History of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO), Moscow State University, High School of Economy took part. 16 reports were presented on a wide range of key issues on domestic and foreign policy and the economy of Spain. The participants reviewed the main sensitive problems like transition to a multi-party system and difficulties to form a stable government both at a local and state levels, the view on the immigration policy by the 5 main national parties, various aspects of the rise of radical right party “Vox”, Catalan crisis in the electoral context as well as the perspectives of the Spanish economy after the elections.
