Abstract

The article is devoted to the work of outstanding Mexican artist Ricardo Martinez de Oyos. His easel paintings where are presented the monumental feminine and masculine figures of streamlined shapes, contoured by exquisite lines, with play of color and light are interfacing of universal and national values. The knowledge of world art helped him to create his own style, but the main visual component of Martinez’s work ascends to the pre-Columbian sculpture.
