Abstract

The article analyzes the meaning and role of the German population of Latin America in achieving the economic and political goals of Germany on the continent. The economic activity of the German diasporas ensured the German presence in the regional economy, the presence of German settlements spawned projects to turn the respective territories into German colonies, and the Latin American Germans acted as agents of German political influence. For their subordination to German politics and the ideology of Nazism was used relative isolation, conservatism, nationalism, and connections with Germany of most Germans of the continent’s.
