Abstract

The availability of energy resources of the required quality and in the required quantity was an important factor in the development of the economy and industry of the early Modern times. In this article, the author, based on the data of income and expenditure books, explores, firstly, the system for ensuring the production of salt with firewood, and, secondly, the idea of the forest as an energy resource and ways of describing it by the people, who were directly involved in the production management process.
